I am a first-generation Houstonian and daughter of immigrant parents with strong roots in Southwest Houston. Growing up in Gulfton, my family and I dealt with hardships, many of which made it difficult to lead a healthy and prosperous life. While living in the community, we were confronted with the reality of violence in the streets and I witnessed first-hand how inadequate policies paralyze our communities.

After 20 years in public service, with accomplished work on the ground in Southwest Houston and with the support of my family, friends and supporters I have decided to elevate our district’s voice at Houston City Council. I am honored and humbled to announce my commitment to serve you on Houston City Council as your next Councilwoman for District J.

I am running for Houston City Council to provide everyone a fair shot to the American dream. We need elected officials who will work on creating sustainable solutions to tackle issues that are preventing us a better quality of life. I am committed on creating welcoming, safe and thriving neighborhoods in District J by working for you and with you. I want to hear what’s important to you and how we can creatively move communities forward.
